PRACTICE HISTORY: We are proud of over 30 years in the optical business!

FORMATION: Page Optical, Ltd was established in 1975 under the name of Kempl-Page Optical, Ltd. The initial location was at 133 Rodd Street.

NAME CHANGE: In 1985 the name of the business changed from Kempl-Page Optical, Ltd to Page Optical, Ltd.

LOCATION CHANGES: In 1986 the location changed to 212 E. Main Street. Then in 1992 Page Optical, Ltd was moved to its present location at 307 E. Main Street.

A NEW "PAGE" IN THE HISTORY OF PAGE OPTICAL: Page Optical, Ltd was purchased by Dr. Buckingham and Kaminski in December 2005.

John E. Kaminski, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Kaminski received his Doctorate of Optometry concurrently with a gerontology graduate certificate from the Ohio State University in 1999. He joined Dr. Buckingham in March 2003. Dr. Kaminski's special interests are low vision rehabilitation and geriatric optometry. He has co-authored multiple research studies, teaches at Central Michigan University, and lectures nationally on gerontology/ aging topics. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Kaminski is an active member of the Midland Lions Club and has served four years in the U.S. Army as an imagery intelligence analyst. Dr. Kaminski's hometown is Wyandotte, MI (in the Detroit area). His wife, Dianne, is from Bay City and is a pharmacist at Meijer Pharmacy. Dr. and Mrs. Kaminski have three children.

Scott M. Buckingham, O.D.

Dr. Buckingham graduated from the Ferris State University College of Optometry in 1988. He has been in practice for over 15 years and assumed leadership of the office in 1994 after the passing of the founder, Dr. Bruce Arnold. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and Michigan Eye Associates. Dr. Buckingham has been a long time volunteer for the Midland Public Schools and coached both youth baseball and basketball. Dr. Buckingham has been awarded several Midland Daily News Readers Choice Awards. Dr. Buckingham is originally from the Midland/ Coleman area. His wife, Michelle, is also from Midland/ Coleman area and works at Dow Chemical. Dr. and Mrs. Buckingham have one son.

Tim Page, Optician

Tim Page has worked with his father Bill Page since September 1987 as both an optician and office manager. Tim is originally from Mt. Pleasant but grew up in Midland, graduating from Bullock Creek High School. In addition to the excellent optician training from his father, Bill Page, he has had Radiology Technology training and business management training at Northwood University.

Page Optical has over 1000 eyeglass frames from lines such as Versace, Charmont, Neostyle, Revo and more.

Low Vision Products

Page Optical has many types of low vision products on display such as talking watches, reading lamps, magnifiers, and more. The products are available for customers to try on their own. Those with visual impairments needing further help can have Dr. Kaminski,a Certified Low Vision Specialist, make specific recommendations for them.
